Introducing Mikayla Casey: Designer at Dreadful Tees

“My designs are the intersection of nature, rebellion, and digital noise.” This statement encapsulates the work of Mikayla Casey, a Designer at Dreadful Tees. Her graphics are known for their vibrant, high-impact details, often blending organic forms with stark, unsettling structures, all delivered as print-ready PNG files.

The Backstory: From Subculture to Graphics

Mikayla’s journey as a designer began not in a classroom, but in the thick of the DIY subculture—creating zines, designing band flyers, and customizing her own gear. She was deeply inspired by the raw, often chaotic, energy of the punk and industrial music scenes, seeking to translate that intense feeling into a visual medium.

She realized her true calling was to capture this chaotic energy in digital form. Her distinctive black-and-green aesthetic—a visual reflection of her personal style—represents the toxic beauty found where the natural world clashes with the artificial. Her goal is to create graphics that are not just seen, but felt, carrying the weight of a powerful, non-conformist message.

 Her Design Philosophy: Digital Rebellion

Mikayla specializes in intense visual texture and vibrant, disruptive contrast. The neon green streaks in her hair are a metaphor for her design approach: taking a classic, dark foundation (the black) and injecting it with a jolt of unexpected, almost radioactive energy (the green).

As a designer for Dreadful Tees, she focuses on creating PNG files with intricate line work, distressed effects, and bold color pops that instantly catch the eye. Her signature is combining the ornate elements of gothic design with the rough, anti-establishment attitude of punk, resulting in graphics that embody digital rebellion and fierce individuality.
